Qatari-Iraqi Joint Security Committee Holds First Meeting in Baghdad

Baghdad, May 07 (QNA) – The Joint Security Committee between the Ministries of Interior of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Iraq convened its inaugural meeting in Baghdad, spanning the period from May 5 to May 7, 2025. This meeting marked a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the security field between the two brotherly nations.

The Qatari delegation was headed by Major General Khalifa Nasr Al Nasr, Director of the Human Resources Department at the Qatari Ministry of Interior, while the Iraqi delegation was led by Lieutenant General Ziad Taha Ali, Advisor to the Iraqi Minister of Interior.

Throughout the three-day meeting, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on various items included in the agenda, covering key areas of mutual concern in the realm of internal security and police cooperation. The committee addressed mechanisms to enhance coordination in combating transnational crimes, exchanging expertise and training programs, and fostering greater collaboration in the fields of border security and cybersecurity.
